In past updates on the rumored plan for Villains Land, we told you guys about the Haunted Mansion-themed restaurant that was in the works, to be located behind its namesake.
Last Fall, Disney announced that the first ever Haunted Mansion Bar would be coming to one of their cruise ships. The Disney Treasure, which plans to set sail in December of 2024, will feature this bar. Inspired by the “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” Disney says this bar will bring the “fan-favorite lore to life in a whole new way.”
In addition, a Pirates-themed tavern coming to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom was announced at last year’s D23. This announcement further cemented the claim that Disney is interested in bringing the original Park’s IP into the dining sphere throughout their Parks & Resorts products.
Despite these signals pointing towards the green-lighting of the rumored Haunted Mansion restaurant, our sources indicate the project has been put on pause. Perhaps Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro will re-green light it in the future!
As stated in our video today covering ALL of the rumors we’ve rounded up, we really hope this restaurant still happens! It sounds awesome and, after all, it’s the only real detail we had on Villains. Alas, we will have to wait and see what Disney has in store for us.
