On Disney’s recent earnings call, CEO Bob Chapek announced the increasing of Park capacity at Walt Disney World. This announcement soon followed with new availability on the Parks Reservation calendar. Quickly, guests eager to go snapped up these passes, leaving very little availability for the rest of this month. With Memorial Day weekend crowds spilling in before and staying after, locals getting out of school, as well as outdoor mask requirements being lifted, this has created a ‘perfect storm’ where even the typically easy parks to get into are filled up in Disney’s reservations system. EPCOT, for example, is already booked through this entire week for annual passholders.
Next week, the only park available for Resort Guests to book is EPCOT. The same is also the case with day ticket holders.
There has been much speculation in the investment community to what extent the long-prophesied “pent up demand” actualizes. Given how quickly Disney’s Park Pass Reservations calendar is developing ‘gray’ and ‘yellow’ days, it lends credence to the possibility that ‘pent up demand’ isn’t just a line for the shareholders. We could be shaping up for a very busy summer at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Brayden,
I have Epcot aerial footage from a helicopter tour my wife and I took about an hour ago. I’ll send it for you to use if you’d like it.
Thanks,
Vinny
